Slightly acidic electrolyzed water (SlAEW) is generated by electrolysis of a mixture of dilute sodium chloride and hydrochloric acid solution in a non-membrane electrolytic cell. SlAEW with a pH value of 5.0-6.5 and higher hypochlorous acid (HClO) concentration has been proved to have strong bactericidal activity and no chemical pollution due to its rapid decomposition.
