Ride-on mowers such as riding mowers, lawn tractors including zero-turn lawn tractors, lawn and garden tractors are involved in many stability related accidents every year. The CPSC found in past studies that the stability related hazard is the number one cause of deaths involving this type of equipment and has been for many years. Design related actions that can be taken to reduce the risk of severe injury and death related to stability related accidents will be discussed.
