Keywords: The Analysis Procedure; Structural Models; Checking Your Knowledge of the Software; Design Ratios; Verifying the Design; Design Assistance; Calculating the Nodal Coordinates Introductory paragraphs: omputers are very efficient at doing the routine calculations that occur in engineering analysis and design. The computer can be programmed to interconnect a database of structural properties, design criteria, and a structural analysis procedure to allow for the interactive design of structural components. This chapter continues the discussion of the design triad with primary emphasis on the analysis procedure. We also discuss how to display the computer stress calculations in terms of ratios and how to check your knowledge of a structural analysis program. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
