A high rise rainout shelter has been built for excluding rain and groundwater percolation during intensive irrigation research on tall crops. The shelter has the special featurs of an open design, an undisturbed soil profile, a data acquisition system, automatic operation depending upon the weather and an overall head clearance of 2.55 m.
