HORIZONTAL auger-type and drum-type feed mixers were performance-tested with concentrate and roughage diets across varying capacities. Sodium chloride and dicalcium phosphate served as tracer ingredients to determine mixing effectiveness. The auger-type mixer yielded consistent coefficients of variation that were of lesser magnitude than those of the drum-type mixer for all diets at all capacities. Coefficients of variation were not consistent for the drum-type mixer.
