A solid state electronic system using digital logic has been developed to control pesticide spray timing for cattle. This system replaces a more expensive system that uses fixed-time-delay electromechanical relays for the same purpose. Spraying is controlled by the action of the cows opening and closing the lid on a mineral feeder. IM 555 timer integrated circuits (ICs) were used to generate clock signals for DM 74163 binary counters which sequenced spray operations.
