Construction of a Digital Hydrologic Soil Group Map for Argentina to Simulate Runoff Using GIS – Hydrologic ModelsPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: 21st Century Watershed Technology: Improving Water Quality and Environment Conference Proceedings, 29 March - 3 April 2008, Concepcion, Chile 701P0208cd.(doi:10.13031/2013.24333)Authors: Gabriel G Vazquez-Amabile, Pablo A Mercuri, Fernanda J Gaspari, Bernard A Engel A digital hydrologic soil group map for Argentina was built based on the drainage classes included in the INTA digital soil atlas of Argentina, scale 1:500,000. Soil shape files from all provinces were merged in a unique shape file for the whole territory and a field for Hydrologic Groups was created. The hydrologic groups (A, B, C and D) were assigned for all soil units according to the drainage classes: Group A to excessively drained, somewhat excessively drained and well drained soils; Group B to moderately well drained soils; Group C to imperfectly drained soils; and Group D to poorly and very poorly drained soils.
