Agririsk-Swat: A Decision Support System to Compute Hydrologic and Nps Pollution Risk Analysis in Agricultural WatershedsPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: 21st Century Watershed Technology: Improving Water Quality and Environment Conference Proceedings, 29 March - 3 April 2008, Concepcion, Chile 701P0208cd.(doi:10.13031/2013.24332)Authors: Gabriel G Vazquez-Amabile, Bernard A Engel Abstract: A decision support system (DSS), named AGRIRISK, is proposed as an add-on application integrated to the GIS version of the SWAT model (AVSWAT2000). AGRIRISK computes groundwater table depth and some risk indicators of interest in agriculture using SWAT inputs and outputs. The system has been conceived to compare soil units and management scenarios based on groundwater table depth and hydrologic indicators along with cumulative frequency curves, which are the tools to quantify and communicate the risk during the decision-making process. At watershed level, AGRIRISK performs NPS pollution risk analysis computing the exceedence probability plots for nitrogen, phosphorus and pesticides load in streams. The later has been proposed in order to be used as a complement of GLEAMS-NAPRA system. Besides, AGRIRISK generates dbf files that the user may use to create thematic and probability maps. In addition, AGRIRISK includes a module to compute statistical validation of SWAT output variables and groundwater table depth in order to save time and effort during the model calibration process.
