Abstract In designing for the structure the stress path is of utility of the basic data of the design like its shape and assigned load. But total automation of the design system has not been achieved because there is no rule about setting up reinforcing steel quantity and arrangement location, instinctive and empirical method is used in many researches. So we made the frame element unidimensional structure with the triangulated irregular network, considering the direction of the stress, proposing the program reducing the burden of the calculation. We study the efficiency of the evolutionary structural optimization by using it.
