Visualized Modeling of Three-dimensional Soybean Root Systems Growth

The integration of both ecophysiological models and morphogenetic models were used to build three-dimensional visualized modeling system of the soybean root systems growth. The morphogenetic models were built by the generative rules of differential L-systems. The ecophysiological models are the growth functions of the three multinomials that were got by specially designed biology experiment according to the theory of similarity. The visual models were built by a series of the truncated cones together with each other. As soon as the coefficients of the three multinomials of root systems growth functions were input, the controllable graphics of the growth of the root systems could be showed veritably and continuously. This was the first time that the differential L-systems theory was used to simulate the root systems.
