A Study on the Discharge Characteristics of Pollutant Loads according to Rainfall in Small Watershed

Various water pollution problems have been appeared in Korea since 1980s. Many researches for the efficient water quality management have been implemented. However, the researches were not enough to improve water pollution into a satisfactory level. Pollutant loads, discharged from each drainage area, are exactly calculated and a target water quality is need to establish, systematic researches of pollutant loads for rainfall property are not enough to comprehend drainage characteristic of pollutant loads. The purpose of this study is to analyze the current trend of non-point source, related to the level of precipitation. Gosam reservoir, located in Gyeonggido, was chosen as a research site, and its runoff volume and pollution loads were measured. And HSPF model, widely used in pollution source management, was applied to the research site. Consequently, their regression equation between runoff and loads was also analyzed to facilitate more efficient management of pollutant source.
