Avian influenza (AI) is a highly infectious disease affecting many species of birds. Highly pathogenic subtype H5N1 represents a potential danger not only to poultry but also to human. Therefore, sensitive detection assays for early diagnosis are vital to lower the chances of spread and reduce the risk of development into an epidemic. In this study, we have developed an interdigitated array microelectrode (IAM) immunosensor for sensitive and rapid detection of AI viruses (AIV).
