The number of farms in Sweden continues to decrease at the same time as the size of the farms and herds increases. This expansion often implies the farmers have to employ workers and it is difficult to recruit qualified people to work at livestock farms. One of several possible explanations of the difficulty to recruit employees might be an unsatisfying work environment. The purpose of the study was to elucidate the psychosocial work environment and its impact on livestock workers well-being.
