Bosch Keywords: agriculture, computer, software, IT, farm management system, integrated systems, IS, GIS, datalogging, standardization, controlling AO Agrar-Office is a commercial software and information system for farmers, agricultural service providers and organizations. Starting up 1995 as first integrated system (IS) in agriculture, AO Agrar-Office in 2006 is completely redesigned in version 5.0. Intention of the project 5.0 is to reach the maximum grade of integration and standardization without loosing usability in practice. The task was to avoid redundancy of data and create the best conditions for sending and receiving data to and from wherever farmers and service-providers want to do this. As an integrated system all business areas should be included in AO Agrar-Office, but in practice in the interests of the customers, there are limits of integration. The intention of AO Agrar-Office as an open system in a world of missing IT-standards in agriculture, forced the designers to find ways to compensate this cap. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
