Clouser Keywords: Extension, interactive video, workshops, seminars, web based University of Florida IFAS Extension implemented a new channel of information; the use of web based interactive video, to assist in increased demand for services from extension clientele, meet requirements for multi-state Extension programming requested by USDA CSREES and reduce the time and costs for extension administrative meetings and workshops. Alternatives were reviewed to accomplish these goals. Web based interactive video provided for increased participation by county and state extension faculty during program planning and increased participation by clientele for non-formal educational delivery. County based interactive video units and a video bridge on the University of Florida campus allowed for increased University of Florida Extension programming for clientele, increases in multi-state Extension programming for clientele and increased the communication locally between state extension specialists and county extension faculty. In addition, time and travel costs were reduced for administrative activities of program planning, development and communications within each of the statewide administrative extension districts and campus in Gainesville, Florida. In addition to increasing teamwork and capacity for faculty to deliver timely extension programming to clientele of Extension in Florida extension programming was enhanced nationally and internationally using this new technology.
