Its importance for increasing yields from agricultural and horticultural crops are realized from time immoriate.Water being limited resources its efficient use is basic to the survival of the ever increasing population of the world. rrigation is the artificial application of water to soil for the purpose of crop raising and food production. Drip irrigation is the great aid to use water efficiently for deep percolation or evaporation. Here is an attempt made by using drip irrigation control system with Remote data acquisition system to improve the results i.e. optimum crop growth is achieved in which soil moisture is controlled within the thresholds. A soil moisture sensor is designed for measuring moisture inside the soil to control the irrigation as per need of the crop. The analog output of sensor is processed by signal conditioning circuit which is basically consisting of wein bridge oscillator, inverting amplifier and summing amplifier. The output obtained from the signal conditioning circuit is processed through 8 bit ADC and given to the microcontroller in the dedicated field station and accordingly makes the solenoid valve on or off as the case may be for the crop. We have used remote RF module CC1000 with the frequency of 400 MHz for transmitting and receiving the Data and control signals. This database created can be used later for statistics purposed which will ease out the irrigation requirement for different crops in different seasons and can initiate appropriate actions for optimizing the drip irrigation requirements of the crops. In the central station data acquisition is achieved by remote computer station having software with rich database.
