This section presents the recent and near-future uses of information technology (IT) for greenhouse cultivation. After some introduction on the basic physical mechanisms that govern greenhouse cultivation systems, two different approaches to greenhouse management and control are analyzed, the horizontal aspect and the vertical aspect. Then, low-level control, medium-level control and management, and high-level management is discussed. An additional section categorizes and presents some of the latest tools and complete products for greenhouse control and integrated management.
