For this study, samples of wastewater were collected to determine the extent of pollution of water resources resulting from the effluent waste of different industries within Ibadan metropolis.

Wastewater sample were collected and analyzed in the laboratory to establish their various physical, chemical and biological parameters. The results show that the physical parameters namely pH, temperature, colour, suspended solids, dissolved solids varied from 3.81 6.78, 29.3 30.10C, colourless light brown, 1020 2390mgl-1, 210 - 1810 mgl-1, 1710 - 4300 mgl-1, respectively.

The chemical parameters analyzed in the samples namely: alkalinity, calcium, magnesium, chlorine, potassium, sulphide, nitrates, sodium, iron, copper, zinc, sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), chloride, magnesium ranged from 125 - 475mgl-1, 50 - 210mgl-1, 9.4 - 132mgl-1, 0.04 1.86mgl-1, 3.8 83.6mgl-1, 0.0 14.0mgl-1, 12.0 - 117mgl-1, 0.0 0.64 mgl-1, 0.0 0.76 mgl-1, 0.0 0.01 mgl-1, 0.0 0.17 mgl-1, 1.20 6.29 mgl-1, 21.3 - 213 mgl-1, 15 - 480 mgl-1, respectively. Some of the physical parameters are within the acceptable and allowable limit required for irrigation.
