Local Yield Detection of Grass in a Mower ConditionerPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Paper number 051135, 2005 ASAE Annual Meeting . (doi: 10.13031/2013.18871) @2005Authors: Karl Wild, Sandro Ruhland, Sieghart Haedicke Keywords: Grass, mower conditioner, wind rowing device, yield detection, torque meter, pressure sensor Based on a windrowing device of a mower conditioner tests were carried out for developing a yield monitoring system for grass. The torque requirement of the wind rowing device and the pressure drop at the hydraulic motor which drives the windrowing device were employed for determining the masses of grass. Under laboratory conditions both methods achieved a high accuracy. In the field the deviations from the actual grass mass were higher. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
