Application of Hyperspectral Imagery and Prediction Algorithms to Precision AgriculturePublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Paper number 051062, 2005 ASAE Annual Meeting . (doi: 10.13031/2013.18845) @2005Authors: Chun-Chieh Yang, Shiv Prasher, Joanne Whalen Keywords: hyperspectral image; precision agriculture; crop yields The hyperspectral imagery data were collected from corn and soybean fields from 2001 to 2002 after the seeding, using different hand-held hyperspectral sensors. In data collection, the reflections of visible and near-infrared wavebands were taken from several spots of the fields. The site-specific crop species and yields were recorded for each spot of the fields. Several algorithms were developed and applied to process the data for proper wavelength selection and yield prediction. The algorithms present promising potential for the application in precision agriculture. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
