EXPLORATION ON KEY TECHNOLOGY OF BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT OF SWINE WASTEWATERPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Proceedings of the Seventh International Symposium, 18-20 May 2005 (Beijing, China) Publication Date 18 May 2005 701P0205.(doi:10.13031/2013.18401)Authors: L. Cong, G. Ruying, W. Jinhua, W. Pingzhi, L. Tingwu Keywords: Swine wastewater, aeration, microorganism treatment, bio-filter A new swine wastewater treatment system is demonstrated and compared with current technologies. Comparisons include solid-liquid separation, sedimentation, aeration of wastewater, bio-filter pond and microorganism treatment. This new treatment technology can comprehensively utilize swine wastewater while meeting discharge standard through solid-liquid separation, acidification and high efficient bio-filter, bio-oxidation pond. Application of the new treatment system in a piggery demonstrated a bio-filter and the total COD removal rates of the system were 93%`97%, respectively. Therefore, the new system combines a single treatment process into a comprehensive treatment system that may have considerable economic, social and ecological benefits.
