Through experimental study on the use of a double shutter with an air conditioner, we used similitude theory and developed the governing equation that indoor airflow should follow. Using the equation and experimental data, we regressed a formula of jet velocity attenuation in the core air stream and the formula of velocity in the main air stream. We found that if you select the proper velocity, the double shutter can do a good job in directing air from the air conditioner.(Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
