PERFORMANCE OF A DOUBLE SHUTTER USED WITH AN AIR CONDITIONERPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Proceedings of the Seventh International Symposium, 18-20 May 2005 (Beijing, China) Publication Date 18 May 2005 701P0205.(doi:10.13031/2013.18372)Authors: T. Ding, Z. Liu Keywords: Similitude theory, jet characteristics, cooling systems Through experimental study on the use of a double shutter with an air conditioner, we used similitude theory and developed the governing equation that indoor airflow should follow. Using the equation and experimental data, we regressed a formula of jet velocity attenuation in the core air stream and the formula of velocity in the main air stream. We found that if you select the proper velocity, the double shutter can do a good job in directing air from the air conditioner. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
