This unit introduces the concept of transient, or unsteady-state, heat transfer. The special case of uniform internal temperature (Newtonian heating) is considered. The more general case of high thermal resistance materials is discussed and the graphical solution approach is discussed for one-dimensional and multidimensional applications.
