A Decision Support System for Curing Farmers' Stock Peanuts

A decision support system to manage commercial peanut drying facilities was developed. Empirical equations to predict peanut drying time, moisture content during the drying process, and time remaining on the dryer were incorporated. Using kernel moisture content instead of pod moisture content as required in the original simulation model had minimal impact on predicted drying time. Comparison of predicted drying time and actual drying times are discussed.
