U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) in corporation of the Chinese and Australian counterparts, have been undertaking substantial measures to investigate and develop technological and institutional programs on water reuse and best management of water resources in China. These multi-phase programs, starting in 1996 with onsite demonstration of U.S. drinking water treatment technologies, have evolved with time but always center on the ultimate goals of improving the water utilization efficiency. This paper illustrates some notable results, describes lessons learnt and ongoing corporative research activities and future directions.
