In this study a computer code (in FORTRAN90) was used to inversely estimate the parameters in the Philips threeparameter type infiltration equation and evaluate the possibility of its extrapolation beyond the experimental data set. The code uses nonlinear least square optimization procedure and Gauss-Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm to minimize the objective function and find the optimized values of the parameters. Double ring infiltrometers were used to gather the experimental data as an input to the code. Comparison of the infiltration simulation results obtained using this model with those achieved using the Kostiakov, Green- Ampt, and Philips two-parameter equations indicate that all of the models can simulate infiltration process quite well. However, in order to get meaningful values for using Philips three-term equation, the lower constraint must be set in parameter optimization procedure. s K
