Egypt as a developed country and its geographical location has enough natural energy such as solar energy. Solar radiation data is not always available in many areas of the world and they have to be estimated using some sort of empirical model. The results of this prediction are compared for the measured data of two different countries, USA (Columbus, Ohio) and Egypt (Alexandria City). The comparison shows a good agreement of the prediction. As an example in a June day, actual total insulation was 15.69 MJ/ m2 for Columbus and 20.45 MJ/m2 for Alexandria and the simulated one was 17.89 MJ/ m2 and 23.07 MJ/ m2 for Columbus and Alexandria, respectively. The solar water heater in the worst solar month (January) provides about 32% of the energy for Columbus and 41% for Alexandria.
