Fatty Acid Composition of Microalgae for Shell Seedling Production Due to Environmental Change

Microalgae is essential in culture fisheries for seedling production of shells. Microalgae have been produced under natural radiation. However production have not been stable because natural radiation often changes according to the weather. So, we developed a culture system using artificial lighting sources recently. The luminaire were set surroundings of the culture vessel in this culture system. It was found that the culturing velocity of microalgae was much higher than under natural radiation. There are some reports concerning the nutritive value of microalgae. However it is not cleared concerning the relation between nutritive value of microalgae and their produced environment. As for the essential fatty acid, that is a thing which production isn't made of the shellfish itself. So it would be important to measure the fatty acid and their relation to cultured environment. A fatty acid analysis was performed on the famous microalgae, cultured by our system. From now on, we are going to study the relation of the cultured environment and nutritive value.(Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
