Machine Vision for Transplanter of Vegetables

This research presents image processing for full automatic transplant machine based on the seedling picture that was taken with a digital still camera, was downloaded to the computer. In case the seedling raised on the cell tray is transplanted, the saturation level of the full automatic transplant machine that brings about laborsaving is not high. It is because many seedlings cause absence stock or poor growth by transplant. Therefore, if it transplants with a fully automatic transplant machine, it will becomes lack of seedlings as it is at field. First, in order to perform the quality judging of seedlings from the picture formed into two values, it asked for the leaf area, circumference length and circular degree, and this was made the amount of features. Then, it could confirm that it followed a growth curve as a result of finding a level of growth of seedling from the leaf area. The deterioration of the seedling by harmful insects and so on could be judged from the change in the degree of leaf area, circumference length, and circular degree.
