It is difficult and laborious to find the best parameter set for a model using the traditional manual model calibration. This limitation necessitates the emergence of new, automatic, and robust multi-objective sensitivity analysis and model calibration procedures that will improve models for predicting water quality. A robust Multi Objective Generalized Sensitivity Analysis (MOGSA) technique developed at the University of Arizona, was used to investigate parameter sensitivity of the Groundwater Loading Effects of Agricultural Management Systems (GLEAMS) model for two agricultural watersheds: one with seepage zones and another without seepage zones. The study focused on the questions: 1) which parameters influence GLEAMS model output, 2) how does parameter sensitivity differ between watersheds with seepage zones and those without seepage zones, 3) is parameter sensitivity different for chemical loss and concentration objective functions? A Monte Carlo sampling method was used to obtain parameter sets for 20,000 model simulations.
