Infrared positioning system to identify the location of animalsPublished by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, St. Joseph, Michigan www.asabe.org Citation: Paper number 023116, 2002 ASAE Annual Meeting . (doi: 10.13031/2013.10949) @2002Authors: H. Bollhalder, M. Gysi, R. Kaufmann Keywords: Location identification, infrared positioning system, electronic animal monitoring. For numerous research projects in the field of animal husbandry it is of great advantage if the location of animals in the stable and outdoors can be recorded automatically and with due indication of place and time. An important prerequisite for the suitability of such a positioning system is that the technical installations should have absolutely no influence on the behavior of the animals. The FAT therefore developed a new system based on infrared recording that can also be used for nocturnal observations. (Download PDF) (Export to EndNotes)
