The design decisions are summarized and compared to the constructed unit. The new greenhouse replaced a 1925 unit with a state-of-the-art greenhouse complex for replicated environmental research and plant production and breeding research. Major components included single layer curved glass roofs, perimeter and root zone heating system, computer controlled fertigation system, and computer controlled environmental control system.
