The use of flax fibre as a reinforcement material in molded resin products presents a great opportunity for value-added product creation, the development of sustainable materials, and improvement on current material performance. Potential applications include automotive body paneling and consumer plastics. For flax fibre to compete economically with other materials, it must be possible to clean large volumes and ensure that any chemical treatments used are environmentally friendly.
