ABSTRACT THE sorption characteristics of the grain legume cowpea {Vigna unguiculata) were studied at five different sorption temperatures (25°C, 35°C, 45°C, 50°C and 70°C). The experimentally obtained data were used to evaluate the suitability of six pre-selected sorption models that appeared to be the most popular for food and agricultural commodities. The same data were also fitted to a linear model using multiple regression analysis and the results were compared to the non-linear models based on the six selected equations.
